Questions and answers

What the product does, what it does not do, and what is included in a plan.

What exactly can I search for?
Hashtags, single keywords, exact phrases, links, emojis, accounts and mentions. You can combine them in one query, so an account and its branded hashtag can be measured together.
How far back does the history go?
To 2006, and there is no limit on the time range of a single query. A plan restricts how many tweets you analyse, never the period you look at, so a report covering two decades costs exactly the same as one covering an afternoon with the same number of tweets.
Do unused tweets roll over to next month?
No. The balance renews every month and whatever is left over is lost. It does not accumulate.
Is there a free version?
No. There is no trial, no free tier and no complimentary first report. Every plan is paid from the first report.
What is in the export?
One row per tweet, covering the tweet itself, its engagement, its author, its content and how it relates to other tweets. It is the same raw material the report is built from. The exact set of columns can change as the API changes, and we are Twitter compliant at every step.
Where does the data come from?
The official X API. No scraping, no intermediaries and no reselling of somebody else stored copy.
Are the impressions estimated?
No. The API returns an impression count for every single tweet, and that is the number the report uses. Nothing is modelled and nothing is extrapolated.
What does Hash Tracker not do?
It does not publish, schedule or manage accounts. It is not a continuous real time monitor, you ask for a report and the report is produced. And it covers X only, no other network.
What happens if I run out of tweets?
You can buy extra tweets at any time without changing plan. Blocks start at 5,000 for $60 and land in your balance straight away. They expire when your current month ends, the same as the tweets in your plan, so nothing carries over to the following month.
Can I cancel whenever I want?
Yes, with no penalty and no notice period. You keep the plan until the day it was due to renew, and you can use the balance you already paid for until then. If you do not cancel, it renews on its own every month.
Is there a student discount?
Not at the moment. The four plans are the same price for everybody.
Do reports from before 2023 carry impressions?
No. X only began returning impressions per post in 2023, so a report on anything earlier has every other metric but not that one. The history itself still goes back to 2006.

Choosing a plan

Every plan carries the same product. The only decision is how many tweets you need to analyse each month.
